LoRA fine-tuning
Low-rank adaptation (LoRA) is a cheap way to fine-tune a large model. The original weights are left untouched. Small additional matrices are trained alongside some of the weight matrices and added to their output. Because these matrices are low-rank, they add few parameters to train. Fine-tuning therefore needs far less memory than retraining the whole model, and the result is a small file that can be applied on top of the base model.
